Captrain, according to its own statements, has established a partnership with the logistics data platform Kasasi. The aim of the collaboration is to digitalize processes in rail freight transport and to increase the quality of logistics services.

Networking of different telematics systems

The platform developed by Kasasi enables telematics data from the employed freight wagons from different sources to be consolidated, processed, and used in a unified presentation. According to the companies, this makes it possible to capture and analyze location data, routes, dwell times, and vibrations. On this basis, Captrain can plan

runs more efficiently, coordinate train formations, and optimize defective wagon management.

“Digitization enables in rail freight transport the improvement of processes and procedures. Whether it is real-time tracking, transport planning or the entire wagon management process: digitization leads to an increase in efficiency and quality. This in turn creates the best conditions for satisfied customers,” says Achim Lutz, Head of Sales for the Captrain Germany Group. “Kasasi thus helps us to meet the high demands of our customers.”

More transparency for customers and partners

Due to the neutrality of the platform, it is

possible to link data from different systems and, if needed, share them directly with customers. According to Captrain, this contributes to greater transparency and traceability along the transport chain. The information obtained is intended to enable better monitoring of processes and thus contribute to a more efficient use of the wagon fleet. Markus Lechner, Managing Director of Kasasi:

„Our mission is to translate data for customers into real added value. Together with Captrain we show how digitization concretely improves processes—from better fleet utilization to higher transparency. At the same time, through the neutrality

of our platform, we create a basis on which collaboration and digitization among all participants in the industry can be promoted even more strongly. Thus, new possibilities for more efficiency and intelligent networking are created—far beyond today's standards.”

Cooperation as the basis for networking in the industry

According to Kasasi, the collaboration aims to translate data into concrete operational benefits and to promote digital cooperation among the actors in the industry. Both partners see in the joint use of a neutral data platform a foundation for a more interconnected and data-driven rail logistics.(av)
