The digital logistician Forto has introduced an AI-supported agent, which, according to announcements, is intended to significantly accelerate and simplify transportation handling along global supply chains. Under the name Flash by Forto, the company has developed a solution based on Large Language Models (LLMs) and a specially structured dataset. The goal is to automate all stages of a shipment – from booking to invoicing – while maintaining consistently high quality in customer service.

“With Flash by Forto, we are redefining the way freight transports are conducted,” explains Guillaume Petit-Perrin, CEO of Forto.

The new solution

is not only intended to make operational processes more efficient but also to change the role of operations managers. Instead of simple routine tasks, they should increasingly focus on strategic decisions and problem-solving.

Flash analyzes, extracts relevant information, suggests courses of action, and documents them automatically – at least that's how Forto describes it. Unlike rule-based automation tools, the system can simultaneously work with thousands of active shipments, draw conclusions, and make independent decisions.

Flash is already being used in Forto's export processing. Among other things, the system handles booking requests, planning of transport modes

and routes, coordination of pickup and delivery times, and validation of shipping documents. The creation of invoices and communication with customers after shipping are also part of its service spectrum. According to the company, the resulting efficiency gains are noticeably significant.

Kamil B. Rodoper, Chief Product & Technology Officer at Forto, describes the introduction as a fundamental change:

“Flash by Forto is the first step in the industry to develop traditional transport management systems into intelligent transport management agents.”

Operations managers would not be replaced but specifically supported in their work.

Forto plans to further

expand the application scope of Flash in the future. The AI solution is also to be used in import processing, air freight, as well as supplier management and onboarding. Forto CEO Petit-Perrin describes the long-term goal as:

“It's about changing the way global logistics is operated.”

With this initiative, Forto underlines its claim to set new standards in automation as a digital logistics company. The Berlin-based company was founded in 2016 and operates locations worldwide for the processing of international transports. Flash by Forto now marks another step on the path to fully digitizing complex
