The Federal Association for Parcel- and Express Logistics unveiled the social-media initiative 'Die Glücksbringer' in Berlin on 11 September 2025. According to the association, the initiative aims to place the people who handle the delivery, sorting and organization of the parcels at the center. The goal is to make their work more transparent and to sharpen public awareness of the employees' achievements.

Portraits of Frontline Employees

The campaign introduces employees with diverse biographies. It features, among others, a delivery person who has been with UPS for 18 years, as well as a logistics specialist who, after fleeing Ukraine, works at

a service partner of Hermes Germany. In addition, a female lateral entrant is profiled, who is employed at a GLS operation and has established herself in the predominantly male-dominated industry. This is meant to show the diversity in parcel logistics and illustrate that the industry opens up employment opportunities for people with different backgrounds.

“Our aim is to make the employees visible and to provide insight into their daily work. We want to raise awareness of the performance behind every package and that logistics processes only function with committed people,” said Marten Bosselmann, chairman of BPEX.

Industry as an Entry

Point into the Labor Market

According to BPEX, parcel and express logistics also provide access to the labor market for people without formal education or with low qualifications. The association further emphasizes the industry's role as a driver of integration for workers with a migration background.

Campaign Against Prejudice

The initiative will, according to the association, also dispel existing prejudices.

“We are clearly committed to good working conditions and to complying with legal regulations. This includes close cooperation of our member companies with the authorities. Violations of legal norms will not be tolerated,” said Marten Bosselmann, chairman of BPEX.

He

also referred to a 2024 survey of delivery drivers and couriers that showed a high level of basic job satisfaction among the employees.
