With the commissioning of a new high-performance charging station in Raubling, Upper Bavaria, DKV Mobility has reached an important milestone: the location marks the one millionth charging point in the mobility service provider's acceptance network across Europe. The new station offers a charging capacity of up to 400 kilowatts and is suitable for the operation of both electric trucks and cars. It is located on the premises of the Inntaler Autohof directly on the A93, a Dettendorfer freight forwarding location, and is operated by Energie Südbayern (ESB) in cooperation with Dettendorfer Energy GmbH.
DKV charging network has been expanding since 2015
The opening underscores DKV Mobility's commitment to expanding the charging infrastructure along important traffic routes, with a focus on commercial road
freight transport. Since 2015, the company has been expanding its charging network and today offers access to one of the largest independent charging networks for electric vehicles in Europe. According to their own statement, an average of around 8,000 new charging points have been connected every month. A nearly nationwide coverage has been achieved in Germany, France, and Italy.
With around 789,000 charging cards issued and over 755 million kilowatt hours of charging electricity processed in 2024 alone, DKV Mobility contributes to the electrification of commercial transport. In addition to public charging points, the company also supports its customers with charging solutions for home and work. To date, over 10,000 wall boxes have been installed.
Digitalization strategy as technological foundation
The technological
foundation of growth at DKV is the digitalization strategy. As early as 2021, DKV Mobility acquired the charging software provider Greenflux, and in 2024 followed with a majority stake in the Aachen-based company Smartlab, a specialist in billing and management of charging infrastructure. This strengthened the company’s role as a platform operator and developed solutions specifically for the needs of fleet operators.
With the symbolic charging point in Raubling, DKV Mobility wants to send a signal for the future of electric road freight transport. The combination of nationwide availability, high charging capacity, and digital controllability makes the network attractive for logistics companies wishing to switch to sustainable mobility.
Green electricity offering at DKV
According to the company’s own sustainability report for 2024,
DKV Mobility has significantly expanded its green electricity offering. The charging volume billed via the DKV Card +Charge reportedly came entirely from renewable energy sources and was certified by guarantees of origin for green electricity.
With this comprehensive offering, DKV Mobility supports its customers in switching to climate-friendly drives. At the same time, the company pursues the goal of reducing its own CO₂ emissions by 42 percent by 2030 compared to 2022. Already in 2024, according to the sustainability report, the share of renewable energies at the company's own locations rose to 59 percent, leading to a reduction in emissions from Scope 1 and 2 by more than 30 percent. DKV Mobility's climate goals are scientifically validated and aim for net-zero emissions
