The French transport company Transports Meunier has taken a decisive step towards the complete digitalization of its transport processes with the help of the e-CMR solution from TransFollow. By integrating electronic consignment notes into the existing transport management system (TMS) and the onboard computer system, the billing period is reportedly shortened by a full 25 days.
Integration into existing IT systems
TransFollow has integrated its e-CMR application into the TMS "ACS Trans" from Sinari and into the fleet management system from Truckonline. Transports Meunier has been using both systems for nearly 25 years to manage its 24 trucks and 42 trailers. The goal of the integration was to combine all functions for managing transport orders and documents onto a single digital platform. The recommendation to introduce the solution came from Truckonline, after which Laurent Grangemare, Deputy General Director of Transports Meunier, decided to implement the TransFollow application.
"The e-CMR, created in ACS Trans TMS based on the data of each transport operation, is sent directly to the Truckonline portal and then integrated into the order data, which drivers access via their mobile application,"
said Grangemare.
Gradual implementation of the e-CMR
After a test phase in the spring of 2025, around 20 percent of the CMR consignment notes were initially digitized. In the meantime, the digitization rate is around 80 percent. The application "TransFollow Drive" is used, which enables drivers to access all tour information and the digital, enriched consignment note via their mobile Truckonline app — for every stage of transport up to the final delivery.
"It is a three-part solution that simplifies the process of managing e-CMRs for both operators and drivers. It was important to develop a powerful tool and a single driver application that can centralize all functions necessary for the smooth running of their tours," explains the Deputy General Director.
The drivers use the same mobile app onsite, which is also linked to TransFollow. They capture signatures from partners and customers during loading and unloading processes. The captured data is transmitted to the TMS in real-time. This allows the company to directly record services rendered and immediately initiate customer invoicing — a process that previously took much longer.
From digitalization to increased
efficiency
The introduction of the TransFollow solution was a crucial milestone for Transports Meunier. The electronic CMR was the last undigitized document in the company. By digitizing this process, the goal of a fully paperless transport operation was realized. Particularly noteworthy is the resulting shortening of the billing period by 25 days — a competitive advantage in an industry dominated by time and cost pressures.
"On the operational side, the solution transforms the simple CMR validation workstation into a data analysis workstation, allowing staff to transition from a basic to an analytical role. Furthermore, e-CMR allows the billing process to start depending on the order within 2 to 24 hours — compared to 27 to 28 days before — directly impacting cash flow," said Grangemare.
In addition, Transports Meunier meets the increasing demands of its customers with the digital CMR, who need information on completed deliveries within a short time — usually within 48 hours for national transports and within a week for cross-border deliveries.
Digital support for international expansion
The e-CMR solution from TransFollow also supports the company's international growth strategy. Transports
Meunier transports goods to Spain, Germany, Italy, Belgium, and recently also to Austria. It is necessary that the electronic consignment note is legally recognized and technically functional in all countries involved. TransFollow ensures that the localization and certification of the e-CMR is guaranteed throughout Europe.
Another advantage lies in ensuring data sovereignty: TransFollow works with SaaS solutions that comply with European data protection regulations. For Transports Meunier, which transports sensitive goods for the aviation industry, the secure processing of transport data is a decisive factor.
Platform for digital supply chains
TransFollow presents itself as a platform for the digital networking of all actors within complex supply chains. The solution enables consistent, media discontinuity-free information exchange — from shippers to OEMs and transport companies to drivers and recipients. All parties have access to relevant data in real-time, significantly increasing transparency and predictability in the supply chain.
The application is usable via various interfaces — via API, web portal, mobile app, and recently also via messaging tools. This makes TransFollow flexibly deployable and supports logistics companies like Transports Meunier in the digital transformation of their
