Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles (VWN) and Enercity have announced the continuation of their previous collaboration in the field of sustainable mobility. On this occasion, the Hanover-based energy company received the 75th ID. Buzz Cargo. The Hanover-based supplier of light commercial vehicles under the umbrella of the Wolfsburg-based Volkswagen Group, which also includes the truck brand Traton Group, and the German electricity and gas supplier, primarily active in the Hanover area, aim to emphasize their pioneering role in the electrification of commercial vehicle fleets. Furthermore, they also aim to strengthen the regional economic location. In total, Enercity now has 75 fully electric ID. Buzz Cargos in service as part of its commitment to climate neutrality. According to

the report, this represents more than half of all electric vehicles in the company's fleet. With the new addition, the proportion of fully electric vehicles rises to over a quarter. The goal is to operate all Enercity vehicles emission-free by the year 2035.

"Our partnership with Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is a clear testament to how sustainable technology and economic strength can go hand in hand. Together, we are making Hanover a pioneer in electromobility and climate protection,”

explains Aurélie Alemany, CEO of Enercity AG, which 200 years ago launched the "first municipal gas lighting in continental Europe" and in 1962 started the local district heating network, which today serves as the basis for the "energy

transition in Hanover." Since 2018, the company, which is 76 percent owned by the city and region of Hanover, has been operating under the new name.

Additionally, according to Alemany, Enercity will ensure that the expansion of the charging infrastructure progresses further, thus facilitating the transition to sustainable mobility. Lars Krause, Board Member for Sales, Marketing, and Aftersales at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, sees the collaboration with Enercity as a good example of how VWN is shaping the transformation to electromobility in the commercial sector with partners:

"The ID. Buzz Cargo stands for sustainable mobility like no other commercial vehicle. Together with Enercity, we are setting new standards for service fleets and are proud that in

our hometown of Hanover, the top energy supplier is a pioneer of the energy transition with the ID. Buzz Cargo."

The collaboration between the two companies has a longer history: As early as the early 1960s, Enercity relied on the VW Bus. Today, the ID. Buzz Cargo symbolically represents the next generation of sustainable mobility, according to the report. The year 2025 represents a special milestone for both partners: Enercity celebrates 200 years of innovative energy supply, and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles looks back on 75 years of successful transporter tradition.

Enercity is one of the largest municipal energy service providers in Germany and employs over 3,500 employees with a revenue of around 7.4 billion euros
