Herma GmbH from Filderstadt has for the first time integrated its labeler "HERMA eco" into a machine for top- and bottom-labeling. In the redesigned '652C' the HERMA eco can fully exploit its advantages: a pronounced cost-effectiveness despite high-quality equipment, combined with a high design and build quality, announced by Herma recently in a press release for FACHPACK 2025, which runs from September 23 to 25 in Nuremberg.
Live at the fair, the labeling machine 652C can be experienced in conjunction with a reel feeder from Köra-Packmat. Products are first singulated and then labeled on the top and bottom. The 652C is also capable of labeling only one side at a time.
The HERMA eco features a master encoder function. This ensures automatic synchronization with the speed of the conveyor belt at all times: This ensures accuracy even at the maximum speed of up to 30 meters per minute for labels up to 160 millimeters wide. The 652C can be configured modularly: To print variable data, the optional thermal transfer printer "HERMA 500" or a dual-sided hot-stamp unit can be integrated.
Also for logistics applications there are solutions on the labeling line—with the "HERMA Print & Apply" systems that can be flexibly integrated into existing production lines. The print module, dispense unit and winder are freely positionable, which should facilitate individual integration. The
systems are based on the same modular components used in "HERMA High-Performance" installations. They are intended to ensure high process reliability as well as easy retooling when products or line changes.
How up to 200 products per minute can be labeled and simultaneously printed with variable data – entirely without additional consumables – is demonstrated by Herma with the two-sided labeling machine "362E". In conjunction with a UV laser from Domino and special film labels from Herma, the print image is produced solely by color change in the label material – completely without contact, ink, or transfer foil. The result: a smear-, scratch-, and chemical-resistant print with high resistance to alcohol,
grease or disinfectants, suitable for pharmaceutical, cosmetic and chemical applications.
With the labeling machine "752C", Herma demonstrates another special application: simultaneous sealing and labeling of packaging – live at the trade fair shown on clamshells with popcorn. The system shows how labels can be used multifunctionally – a growing trend, especially in the field of sustainable packaging.
Additionally, Herma presents a complete labeling line: This should provide the right solution for every application. The basis for this are modular labelers such as the new HERMA eco and the established "HERMA 500". The latter is known, according to Herma, for its flexibility, ease of use, and integration capability.
