The Nagel-Group has fully digitalized its loading aids management as of August 1 at all 130 locations, as stated in the press release from the Versmold-based company dated August 26.
Already in early 2025, the Nagel-Group announced a large-scale digitization initiative. The goal was to handle the management of reusable pallets and boxes company-wide via Logistikbude's SaaS solution. The startup offers a system for connected and automated real-time management of loading aids, intended to make processes more transparent and, according to its own statements, to reveal
cost and resource savings potential.
Annually, according to its own statements, the Nagel-Group handles around 25 million Euro pallets, 35 million Euro boxes, and three million H1 plastic pallets. So far, the management has largely been conducted via analog records, which made traceability more difficult. With the new software, existing data from pre-systems are used, so inventories and the whereabouts of the load carriers can be traced more quickly and securely.

For the go-live, key users were comprehensively trained in trainings, workshops and regular meetings. Even after the introduction, the solution will be further developed. Practical experience and user feedback are fed directly back into the process. Among other things, an AI function is planned to automatically analyze pallet slips and post them.
