On an area of approximately 21,000 square meters, a customized location for temperature-controlled food logistics is to be developed together with project developer LemonTree. Completion is planned for the first half of 2026, according to their own statements.

Carsten Taucke, CEO of the Nagel Group: “With the new construction in Gdańsk, we are deliberately strengthening our presence in the Polish market and creating the infrastructural prerequisites to continue serving our customers flexibly, sustainably, and efficiently in the future.”

The new location is intended to be consistently planned and

implemented sustainably. The office and warehouse spaces will be heated by heat pumps and additional waste heat from the cooling processes will be utilized. In the winter months, when heat recovery is insufficient, additional heat pumps will ensure effective energy management, according to the logistics company. A photovoltaic system with a capacity of 1.5 MWp on the roof will also support self-sufficient energy supply, and rainwater will be used for maintaining green spaces and cleaning trailers.

Technology for Chilled LogisticsAccording to the Nagel Group, the new logistics center

will be precisely tailored to the requirements of temperature-controlled food logistics, featuring ambient and ultra-fresh product areas as well as a large transit warehouse. The different zones will also be equipped with modern cooling systems based on glycol-ammonia technology.

At the same time, the building has been designed to be structurally prepared for the development of services in the transshipment and handling of deep-frozen goods. The structural design enables the later addition of more cooling chambers without having to interfere with the existing structure. Robert Katafiasz, Managing Director

of the Nagel Group in Poland: “Our customers expect the highest quality and reliability from us, especially with sensitive, temperature-controlled products. With the new location, we meet these demands.”

Modern fire protection systems ensure the highest safety standards, and a glass facade creates bright office spaces. Additionally, a separate co-packing zone on a mezzanine level in the ultra-fresh area will provide additional capacity for value-added
