Deka Immobilien has acquired a distribution centre in the Sant’ Antonino industrial area in the Swiss canton of Ticino, as stated in Deka Immobilien's press release dated August 27. The property will be included in the portfolio of the open-ended real estate fund WestInvest InterSelect. Confidentiality regarding the purchase price and the seller has been agreed.
The building, erected in 2013, offers more than 50,000 square metres of rentable space and 80 parking spaces. A focus is on sustainability: Two photovoltaic installations with a total area of around 20,000 square metres are installed on the roof. In addition, the building holds a LEED Platinum certification, confirming the property's environmental and energy efficiency.
The distribution centre is leased long-term to GXO Logistics Switzerland S.A.G.L., a subsidiary of the U.S. company GXO Logistics, Inc. GXO provides logistics services in Sant’ Antonino for a French luxury goods company as well as for a large German online retailer.
The location is deemed strategically advantageous: Located directly on the motorway and near the
Italian border, the property lies within the Germany–Basel–Milan logistics corridor, a central hub for European supply chains.
For WestInvest InterSelect, this is the first investment in a logistics property in Switzerland. With the acquisition, the fund expands its portfolio with a modern property featuring sustainable characteristics and long-term secured income through an internationally established tenant. (sv)
