Flink, according to its own statements, is launching the largest territorial expansion in its history. According to Flink, around 15 million people in Germany will have access to minute-fast grocery deliveries. According to the company, around 2.3 million new households will be given access for the first time to a comprehensive range of products with short delivery times.
With around 100 hubs nationwide, Flink is specifically targeting new neighborhoods and peripheral areas, where often less than one supermarket per square kilometer can be found. With this approach, Flink aims to bring convenience and a wider range of products directly to the people.
"Our strategy is clear: we want to enable as many people as possible in Germany to access fresh groceries in supermarket quality - quickly, reliably, and at fair prices. With the expansion of our delivery areas, we now reach 15 million potential customers and open up attractive new markets for further growth," says Lucas Rietz, Managing Director of Flink Germany.
Flink is responding to what the company sees as increasing demand for flexible shopping solutions in previously less-covered regions. The newly acquired households are to receive access to a large range of products.
New Generation of E-Bikes
To support the area expansion,
Flink is relying on an updated generation of e-bikes. According to the company, these are designed for longer distances in peripheral areas and offer a higher transport capacity. Improved equipment and increased stability are intended to ensure reliable delivery even in newly developed regions.
"We are not growing at any cost but focusing on efficiency and customers. The new delivery areas allow us to better utilize our existing hubs and further increase our economic efficiency," Rietz further says.
According to Flink, the expansion of the delivery areas is expected to lead to about ten percent more orders per month. This could help
reduce fixed costs per order. In the regions served so far, the company has observed an order activity in about 30 percent of the households since market launch. A comparable market penetration is being targeted for the new areas. This should lay the foundation for a stronger presence and sustainable long-term growth in the newly developed regions.
According to its own statements, Flink offers food and other products at supermarket prices with short delivery times. Customers can order from a complete assortment, which includes fresh fruit, vegetables, meat, and branded items. Delivery is daily and free for orders from 59 euros. (sv)
