Packaging processes place high demands on conveying technology. Goods must be transported to an exactly defined time at an exactly defined place. Habasit develops and manufactures transport and process belts as well as timing belts specifically for such requirements to meet the challenges of this industry. The extensive portfolio for the packaging industry will be presented at FACHPACK 2025 in Nuremberg, which runs from September 23 to 25, as Habasit announced to the press.
Thus, the HabaSYNC timing belts can be
manufactured specifically for the requirements of packaging technology. Whether filling, applying film, labeling or crate transport – with a broad selection of belt types, coatings and additional profiles, the belts can be adapted to the respective conveyed goods.
Also for sensitive sectors such as the food industry, Habasit offers solutions. Carrier profiles can be manufactured individually in special shapes and sizes using modern CNC technology, injection molding processes, or 3D printing. For applications with particularly tight tolerances or complex hole patterns,
vacuum timing belts of the HabaSYNC type are used, where perforation is carried out with high-precision water-jet technology. In this way, slip-free transport in the application is to be ensured.
According to Habasit, mechanical connection options such as the “HabaSYNC Hinge Joint” or “Pin Joint” significantly facilitate assembly and maintenance. They enable fast belt changes and thus minimize downtime and conversion costs to a minimum.
In many packaging lines, Habasit semi-elastic fabric belts are used. The special fabric structure – for
example with belt type “NSL-02SSBV” – ensures high tracking accuracy and reliably compensates smaller misalignment errors in the conveying system. The highly adhesive, antistatic surface and the high flame retardancy make the belt versatile. Thanks to its flexibility it is also suitable for conveyors with small drum diameters. Easy assembly and maintenance contribute to lowering operating costs. The belt type XVT-2823 offers similar properties, has a matte surface and is specifically designed for applications in food packaging.
