From 7 to 13 May 2026, the Processing & Packaging trade fair interpack will again open its doors at the Düsseldorf exhibition grounds. As announced by the organizer, Messe Düsseldorf GmbH, on 1 October, 2,800 exhibitors from 60 countries will present their solutions and products in the Rhine metropolis.

“interpack 2026 is more important than ever,” says interpack Director Thomas Dohse. “Against the backdrop of a profound transformation in many areas, numerous topics are on the agenda—from AI and automation, new regulations and the need for future skills to innovative materials. Now is the time to tackle it together.”

From Messe Düsseldorf's perspective, the framework conditions for the industry are currently multi-layered. With a growing world population, intensive urbanization, rising incomes and changing consumption behavior, the processing- and packaging- industry is in ever greater demand. At

the same time, companies face major challenges: raw materials are scarce and expensive, regulations are becoming more complex, the bureaucratic burden involved is enormous, supply chains are uncertain, skilled workers are in short supply, and the pace of innovation is high. Geopolitical risks are also on the rise.

“Especially in this dynamic market situation, a global summit like interpack is a central impulse generator and therefore of particular value,” says Richard Clemens, managing director of the Food Processing and Packaging Machinery Association within VDMA. “Here, solutions are presented that, along the entire value chain, help conserve resources, make processes more efficient, and secure competitiveness in the long term. Those who want to actively shape the transformation need not only innovative technologies but also a strategically smart orientation – because only then can ecological and economic challenges

be successfully mastered.”

For the confectionery and bakery industry, for example, the companies Aasted, Sollich, Theegarten-Pactec or Sacmi Packaging & Chocolate are represented at interpack 2026. This area extends with its exhibitors across halls 1, 3 and 4. Representatives from the pharmaceutical and cosmetics sectors are also present at the fair: in halls 15 to 17, for example, IMA Industria Macchine, the Marchesini Group and Optima present their portfolios. In the extensive exhibition area for food, beverages, consumer and industrial goods across six halls (11-14 as well as 5 and 6) companies such as the Coesia Group, Duravant, Gerhard Schubert, Ishida, KHS, Krones, MULTIVAC, Syntegon Technology and Ulma Packaging showcase their solutions.

A central role for the industry, according to the organizer, is played by halls 7, 7a, 8a, 9 and 10 of interpack. There, around

1,000 exhibitors will present materials and end products for packaging. Here you will find companies such as Bericap, Jokey, Metsä, Sappi Europe or Schütz. The labeling and marking technology in halls 8a and 8b is represented, for example, by Bluhm Systeme, Domino Printing Sciences and Totani.

Exhibitor database and ticket shop available

The exhibitor and product database of interpack is available immediately. Visitors can already inform themselves in advance about companies, products and innovations and plan their trade fair visit. Currently, all main exhibitors are listed; the database will, however, be gradually supplemented with co-exhibitors. Since October 1, the ticket shop for interpack 2026 has also opened. The website also provides information on fair preparation, travel and accommodation. A new hotel service, according to the organizer, bundles the offers for interpack and is intended to facilitate
