What is needed to secure the supply of medicines to the German population? Frank Sczesny, Board Member for Technology & IT, Logistics & Operations, Supply Chain Management at the pharmacy purchasing cooperative Sanacorp, sees various stakeholders responsible for this. He hopes for positive impulses from the new federal government: "The coalition agreement states that pharmacies should be strengthened in their role - we naturally support this, even if much

is conditional on funding," says Sczesny in an interview with LOGISTIK HEUTE. It is hoped that the tense economic situation of pharmacies will relax through appropriate remuneration. According to the board, debureaucratization is also a major issue for the pharmaceutical wholesale trade.

Searching for Solutions Together

"Here, I would wish for all stakeholders to be brought together to see where cooperation can be improved," says Sczesny regarding the legislative

process. This task force should involve pharmacies and patient associations as well as representatives of health insurance companies and manufacturers.

"Every single party in the respective value creation stages faces similar challenges – whether it's rising medication prices, improvement in remuneration, regulatory issues, or how we can perhaps also improve value creation in some areas through process optimization, closer integration of data, or increased transparency," explains Frank Sczesny.

Pharmaceutical

wholesalers like Sanacorp also function as a hub between manufacturers and pharmacies in everyday life by purchasing goods and making them available multiple times a day. "Speed, delivery capability, and thus the quick supply of medicines in Germany are invaluable assets - and the contribution of pharmaceutical wholesale."
