With a new 4,000-square-meter logistics hall and a modern office building, the international logistics service provider Gebrüder Weiss is doubling its capacities in the Aldingen region at the Nagelsee industrial park location. During an official opening ceremony on July 11, Wolfram Senger-Weiss and Jürgen Bauer, both members of the management team, officially handed over the new facility for its intended use, according to a press release from the same day.
“The expansion in Aldingen is a clear commitment to the
region,” said Senger-Weiss. “In recent years, we have established ourselves as a reliable partner of the regional economy—and are definitely here to stay.”
The background to this statement is the announced withdrawal of Swiss Post Cargo from the German general cargo business in the fall. As of October 1, 2025, Gebrüder Weiss will take over as a franchise partner in the Europe-wide CargoLine network to connect to the general cargo network. “This ensures that access to the nationwide general cargo
network is maintained for regional companies—without disadvantages for the local economy,” according to Bauer.
Yvonne Reichardt, site manager in Aldingen, also emphasized the good collaboration with local companies: “In the area between the Black Forest and the Lake Constance region, we have established ourselves as a reliable logistics partner thanks to personal relationships and proximity to customers.” Currently, around 70 employees in Aldingen ensure smooth operations. The company expects around 300,000 shipments in 2026. Customers include renowned companies from the
mechanical and plant engineering sectors, the automotive industry, and the ventilation and air conditioning technology sector.
A photovoltaic system installed on the roof will generate around 390,000 kilowatt-hours of environmentally friendly electricity per year. This will be used directly for electrically operated conveyor vehicles, trucks, and cars, as well as for building climate control. According to the company, recent investments in expansion and modernization of the site amount to around nine million euros. Gebrüder Weiss operates nationwide with 1,250 employees
