Dotlux GmbH, a German manufacturer of professional LED lighting solutions, is constructing a fully automated logistics center in Weißenburg. The centerpiece of the 1,450-square-meter facility is the “atlas 2D Automated Storage and Retrieval System” (ASRS) from Movu Robotics, a compact pallet shuttle system. Commissioning is planned for May 2026, according to a press release issued on September 30 by the warehouse automation provider.

With continuous growth and a steadily expanding product range, Dotlux faced the challenge of making its logistics processes

future-proof. The goal was to implement a solution that reliably handles increasing item variety, ensures stable order processing, and at the same time takes into account the skilled labor shortage in the Weißenburg region.

“Space, efficiency and sustainability were the decisive factors for this project,” explains Matthias Schübel, COO at Dotlux. “We wanted a system that meets our current requirements and at the same time gives us the possibility to scale flexibly with our growth. The Movu atlas 2D Shuttle System

offers exactly this balance – high-density storage, seamless IT integration and full scalability.”

The new logistics center in Weißenburg is a greenfield project designed from the outset for the deployment of modern automation. With the installation of the Movu atlas 2D System, complemented by conveyor technology for inbound and outbound goods, manual pallet movements are rendered obsolete. Stocks can thus be managed end-to-end in accordance with the FIFO principle.

With 2,900 pallet positions across four levels, operated by three shuttles and

accessed via a lift, the system enables handling of around 200 pallets per day inbound and 150 pallets per day outbound.

The system is controlled by “Movu OPS”, Movu Robotics' Warehouse Execution Software, which integrates into Dotlux's existing IT landscape. The system is optimized for EUR pallets and can be flexibly expanded if needed.

The new logistics center in Weißenburg will be fully operational in spring 2026 and will secure Dotlux a pioneering role in modern warehouse automation in the German
