The specialist publisher Thieme reorganizes its book distribution: From October 1, 2026, Thieme, the specialist publisher, will take over the distribution of the publisher's books for medical information. At the new site of Lila Logistik in Blaufelden, Baden-Württemberg, Thieme's books will in the future be stored, picked, and delivered to retailers as well as directly to end customers, the logistics service provider announced in a press release on November 5.
"We are very pleased to gain another
renowned publishing house as a customer," said Michael Müller, CEO and founder of Müller – Die Lila Logistik. Thieme's decision is a great validation of our strategy to invest in current technology, know-how, and automation. In this way we will use for Thieme our new, state-of-the-art AutoStore installation at the Blaufelden site, which was specifically designed for such customers and their requirements."
The storage space in Blaufelden covers more than 100,000 square meters; from there, up to
100,000 shipments are dispatched daily.
"In this logistics center, our qualified employees work hand in hand with smart robotics to store and prepare shipments for dispatch as quickly and accurately as possible," explained Müller.
Thanks to the fully digitized environment, all parties involved are always informed about the status of all goods and orders and can act quickly accordingly.
