Effective October 1, 2025, Martin Umland will be appointed Group Vice President Supply Chain Management of the Otto Group. This was announced by the Hamburg-based online retailer in a press release. Accordingly, Umland will succeed Raphael Adrian Maier, who is leaving the Otto Group of his own accord.
According to the company, Martin Umland brings in an experienced and well-connected logistics manager from within its own ranks to assume responsibility for the Supply Chain Management in the Otto Group Holding. In his
new role, the engineer is particularly responsible for logistics planning, strategy, innovations and corporate services of the corporate group.
Martin Umland has been with the group in various roles since 2006, initially as project manager in the Otto Group Holding as well as at Hermes Fulfilment. Since 2010 he has held various leadership positions in the Bonprix Group and most recently was responsible there as Vice President Logistics for the international logistics of the fashion brand. In addition, he had implemented a
holistic transformation program for the Bonprix Group's overall organization by the end of 2024.
“We are very pleased that we could recruit Martin, a competent and successful manager from the Otto Group for this strategically central position in the Otto Group Holding. I wish him all the best for his new role in the group and a successful tenure,” says Kay Schiebur, Executive Board Member for Services at the Otto Group.
Raphael Adrian Maier leaves the Group on September 30, 2025 to
return to his Swiss homeland. Kay Schiebur:
“With Raphael Maier we lose a very successful logistics expert. He has significantly advanced the Otto Group's supply chain management and lifted it to a new level. Raphael looks back on numerous innovative milestones in corporate logistics – among other things on the forward-looking strategic partnerships in the AI robotics field with Covariant and Boston Dynamics. I deeply regret that Raphael has decided to leave the Otto Group, and I wish him much success in
