At their logistics location in Velika Gorica, approximately 18 kilometers southeast of Zagreb, Croatian Post HP-Hrvatska Posta d.d. has implemented a new material flow concept for the storage and picking of small items for their brand "CargoPolo." For this project, HP-Hrvatska Posta chose the service provider Hörmann Intralogistics. The provider impressed with its overall layout for the logistics processes and has now completed a custom "AutoStore" solution, including the Warehouse Management System "HiLIS."
The compact AutoStore small parts warehouse comprises 6,000 containers on 16 levels in the first expansion stage. On request, Croatian Post can increase the system to 15,500 containers. The dynamic rate of 800 outgoing goods per hour is facilitated by a total of nine "CarouselPorts." For storage (90 per hour), a "ConveyorPort" is available. Seventeen autonomous robots supply and manage the picking ports.
To support the picking staff, each "CarouselPort" was equipped with
a mobile shelf providing eight slots for the shipping containers. Additionally, pick-by-light and put-by-light systems are intended to assist employees with the picking process.
The "AutoStore" control autonomously processes the transport orders for all robots but does not know the contents of the containers. For this, Hörmann Intralogistics has developed the superior Warehouse Management System "HiLIS," which was designed for the requirements of "AutoStore" and is directly connected to the customer HOST systems.
The intralogistics provider's team had to act flexibly as Croatian Post's data system was quickly shifted from an external to an in-house solution. Due to its modular structure, HiLIS could be individually adapted to the new parameters.
At the customer's request, the enclosure, the ports, and all robots of the new AutoStore system were specially painted in the striking postal yellow. Installed in an existing hall, the new "AutoStore" system recently went into
