Amazon announced in early 2025 its largest order to date of electric trucks: More than 200 Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 are intended for transport in Germany and Great Britain and are to contribute to the decarbonization of Amazon's logistics network.
The first of the ordered battery-electric long-haul trucks are now on
the roads in Great Britain. According to the manufacturer, they can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in around 70 minutes with a charging power of 400 kW via fast charging infrastructure.
Together, the vehicles are to deliver more than 300 million products per year.
Serial production of the
eActros began at the end of November 2024 at the Mercedes-Benz Wörth plant. Since December 2024 it has been delivered to customers and is currently in daily use in more than 15 European countries according to the manufacturer.
Recently the manufacturer expanded the portfolio with additional variants based on the
eActros 600. Depending on requirements for range, payload and comfort, one could in the future choose between two cab variants, two or three battery packs as well as different wheelbases and new axle configurations.For the second generation of the eActros, the company offers more than 40 variants of the base
