Gebrüder Weiss will establish a new country organization in Thailand on June 1, 2025. As the internationally active transport and logistics company announces, the goal is to expand the existing network in Southeast Asia and create direct connections to important markets in the Asia-Pacific region.

According to the information, the new location in Bangkok is intended to serve as a hub for air and sea freight. A local team of 20 people also organizes customs clearance as well as national and cross-border

land transport. In the long term, the establishment of warehouse logistics is also planned. The focus is particularly on companies from the automotive and high-tech industries.

“With the new country organization, we are closing a strategic gap and creating direct connections to central Asia-Pacific markets for our customers,” explained Lothar Thoma, Managing Director Air & Sea at Gebrüder Weiss.

Thailand is considered a regional production and export location with strong trade relations with the USA, China, Japan, Australia, and Singapore. In all

these countries, Gebrüder Weiss is represented with its own branches.

According to the announcement, Thailand's export volume in 2024 amounted to around 300 billion US dollars. Compared to the previous year, this corresponds to an increase of five percent. The largest share of exports consists of industrial goods, including electronics, vehicles, machinery, and food.

Cristian Predan, Area Manager South-East Asia at Gebrüder Weiss, emphasized the expertise of the new team in Bangkok: “Our employees have many years of experience in international transport

management. In the medium term, we want to expand our services in Thailand to include warehouse logistics, with a special focus on the automotive and high-tech industries.”

With the entry into the Thai market, the company is now present in nine countries in the East and Southeast Asia region, as well as Oceania. These include Thailand, Australia, Greater China, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, and Vietnam. In total, Gebrüder Weiss operates 35 locations in the region with around 800 employees.
