The Logistikbude GmbH, together with the Mehrweg Initiative Foundation and the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics, has developed the "PPWR Mood Index German Economy 2025". The aim of the study was to provide a realistic picture of how well German companies are prepared for the new EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).

The regulation, which has been in force since February 2025, will become binding in all EU member states after a transition period on August 12, 2026. It includes requirements for materials, reuse systems as well as information and reporting obligations and is primarily aimed at producers, manufacturers, importers, and traders of packaging. The mood index is intended to raise awareness among companies of the ecological and economic impacts and to highlight fields of action.

Business managers, supply chain professionals, sustainability officers, and those responsible for packaging and packaging management were surveyed

For

the survey, 90 companies from the fields of trade, production, logistics, packaging manufacturing, and pooling were questioned over the course of a one-month online questionnaire. The participants, including business managers, supply chain professionals, sustainability officers, and those responsible for packaging and packaging management, evaluated both their level of knowledge and implementation capability regarding the new regulations. The range included small companies with fewer than 50 employees to large enterprises with over 2,000 employees.

The results will be published free of charge on the Logistikbude website on September 16, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. At the same time, the Dortmund start-up will present the findings at FACHPACK 2025 in Nuremberg. The exhibition stand in Hall 3, Stand 3-521k, offers visitors the opportunity to assess their own PPWR preparation and compare it with data from the mood index. In addition, co-founder Michael Koscharnyj will present key practical experiences in the

PACKBOX expert forum in Hall 4, Stand 4-209, on September 23 and discuss the challenges of the PPWR until 2030 with experts from Fraunhofer IVV and IML.

Software for the digital management of Euro pallets, containers, and racks

In addition, Logistikbude will showcase its software solution for the digital management of reusable packaging such as Euro pallets, containers, or racks at FACHPACK 2025. The application enables real-time tracking, provides an overview of inventory, requirements, and circulation times, thus supporting resource-efficient and efficient logistics.

The company was founded in 2021 and brings long-standing expertise from the packaging industry, particularly from Fraunhofer IML, into the development of its solutions.
