The logistics service provider ID Logistics Germany has commissioned a new security system at its site in the Hanover region. The contract logistics provider has been using the walk-through scanner "QPS Walk 2000" from Rohde & Schwarz there since June 2025. The device is deployed in a pilot phase in the e-commerce sector, where many employees have daily access to sensitive warehouse zones.

"The use of the walk-through scanner enables us to serve a significantly higher

number of employees in a shorter time with minimal inconvenience. This benefits the employees, as they do not have to stop to scan or remove outerwear," says Sebastian Kissel, Director of Revision & Administration at ID Logistics Germany.

Robin Otto, CEO of ID Logistics Germany, explains: "The safety of our employees as well as the goods stored for our customers is our top priority. With this innovation we also increase customer satisfaction by reducing potential shrinkage

to almost zero. This is particularly relevant at sites with high-value goods."

The scanner operates with millimeter-wave technology and detects both metallic and non-metallic objects. The system uses artificial intelligence to display the captured items in real time on a gender-neutral avatar. Employees pass through the device at normal walking speed, without stopping or removing clothing. This facilitates processes during shift changes and reduces the duration of access controls.

Less shrinkage in the e-commerce warehouse

The

system is intended to help increase security in the warehouse and prevent loss of goods. If the device detects a suspicious object, it shows the affected area on the avatar. Security personnel can respond selectively without conducting a full inspection. The technology deployed replaces conventional control measures, which often take more time.

After the test phase, ID Logistics plans to deploy another device at the Diemelstadt site. There, too, many employees work in an e-commerce environment
