The Noerpel Group, headquartered in Ulm, has expanded its apprenticeship commitment for 2025. In autumn, 122 young people began their apprenticeships at the logistics company. This increased Noerpel's number of apprenticeship positions compared with the previous year, when 110 trainees were hired. The company also plans to further increase the number of places for the apprenticeship year 2026.
Overall, the corporate group currently employs 250 trainees and students in dual study programs. The new cohorts started in August in nine federal states and in September in seven more. Overall, the company says it has
increased its own apprenticeship rate, and it trains people so that, after successful completion, they can be taken on and shown early career prospects within the group.
“The apprentices of today are the skilled workers of tomorrow,” says board member Judith Noerpel-Schneider. “We want to make our contribution to addressing the shortage of skilled workers with a solid education. In addition, we promote internal exchange and also apply successful ideas or strategies from individual locations in other regions — thus we benefit group-wide from best practice examples.”
New Support Concepts
Alongside the expansion of
training positions, the logistics company has introduced a new training concept. The aim is to bring training at all sites to a uniformly high quality level. This should improve both the support and the organizational processes. At the same time, the new standards would leave room for site-specific adjustments, it says.
The concept provides for various measures to specifically support trainees. These include structured onboarding offers, internal exam preparations, highlighting continuing education opportunities, and a formal feedback culture. In addition, Noerpel promotes internal exchange to adopt successful concepts from individual branches group-wide and to
use best-practice examples across locations.
Training in Eleven Occupational Fields
The junior staff undertake their training in various commercial, industrial, and technical occupations. These include, among others, the training to become a warehouse logistics specialist, to become a professional driver, in various commercial occupations, as well as dual study programs in business administration, computer science, and business informatics.
According to the company, the new apprentices participated in training courses, workshops and team events in the first weeks, in addition to an introductory session. Applications for the start of training in 2026 are already possible.
