The Voith Group has reorganized all of its logistics at the Garching site and is relying on collaboration with Sonima GmbH, a company of the logistics service provider Pfenning. Since mid-July 2025, Sonima has taken over the full management of all logistical processes for the Voith Turbo division. This includes inbound goods, storage, production supply, shuttle traffic, as well as the global shipping of finished goods and spare parts. At the Erding site near Munich, a new logistics center has
been put into operation, which will be expanded to 16,000 square meters by 2026.
"From the outset it was important for us to entrust our logistics to reliable hands and to be able to rely on an absolute professional. The collaboration with Sonima enables us to have exactly that, while we can fully focus on our core business," said Steffen Krippendorf, Senior Vice President Operations and Plant Manager at the Garching site.

The transition took place in a ramp-up phase coordinated between Voith and Sonima to ensure smooth production supply. The Garching plant is supplied with material in up to twelve daily shuttle round trips. Despite "complex framework conditions," as the Pfenning Group puts it, it has been possible to secure the supply without production interruptions. Notably, the rapid establishment of stable processes and the close coordination between the two companies are to be highlighted, as stated.
