Sto SE & Co. KGaA has recently begun using the PSIglobal software from the IT provider PSI Software SE to optimize its own supply-chain network. This is stated in a press release by the software specialist. With the solution, the existing logistics network could in the future be made more efficient and flexible, taking ecological and economic
aspects into account, it says.
The Sto Group, headquartered in Stühlingen, Baden-Württemberg, is a manufacturer of products and systems for building facades. Due to growing customer requirements and the increasing complexity of global networks, the company decided to organise the supply-chain structure more efficiently, more transparently, and more resiliently. This required a new solution that supports strategic
planning on a data basis in order to make logistics structures future-proof, according to PSI.
The deployment of the PSIglobal software enables Sto, in addition to a site assessment, to model networks as well as to calculate CO2 emissions. This could optimize costs and realize sustainability goals. Additionally, a multitude of scenarios such as site consolidation, route
optimization, or evaluation of logistic investments could be simulated daily. According to PSI, the results provide a solid basis for decision-making in supply chain management.
Moreover, the system supports reducing the ecological footprint through intelligent resource use and emission analyses. In addition, according to the provider, delivery reliability is increased and lead times in the supply chain
