The French company Transports Lebrun operates a fleet of 50 trucks as well as around 100 tanks in various sizes and specializes in food-grade tank transport in the French Champagne region.

On the road on behalf of the vintners

After a practical test during last year's harvest, Lebrun has now decided this year on two battery-electric Mercedes-Benz eActros 600.

The trucks were operating

across the entire Champagne region in late summer 2025 to transport the freshly pressed grape juice from the press houses to the fermentation tanks of the champagne producer Vranken-Pommery. In total, according to the information, several thousand hectoliters of the valuable grape juice were to be transported CO2-neutral.

The electric trucks are said to have attracted considerable attention among the vintners and at

Vranken-Pommery, and to be a symbol for the future of mobility in viticulture.

The vehicle

The serial production of the eActros 600 started at the end of November 2024 at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Wörth, with deliveries to customers in December 2024. Currently the electric vehicle is in operation in more than 15 European countries.

According to the manufacturer, they aim to cover

even more customer requirements. For this purpose, the battery-electric truck portfolio was expanded with further variants based on the Mercedes-Benz eActros 600.

Customers could in the future choose between two cab variants, two or three battery packs, as well as different wheelbases and new axle configurations. For the second generation of the eActros, the company offers over 40 variants of the base vehicle.
