The summer is slowly coming to an end, and the next Nufam is in sight. From September 25 to 28, 2025, alignment technician Josam will also present his innovations at the Karlsruhe commercial vehicle show. The sales team is ready to be quizzed on axle measurement, induction heaters, and accident repair products, among other things.
Axle Measurement: Cam-aligner
The camera-based application Cam-aligner is currently the top product for axle measurement of heavy commercial vehicles, offered by the Swedish alignment specialist in addition to the laser-based solutions I-Track II and Laser AM. Dubbed as an extremely fast, flexible, and robust system, the Cam-aligner measures “everything from tanks to pickups, even in the most hostile environments”—which, for instance, means that the system can also be used on uneven ground due to the compensation feature. Measuring a complete vehicle should only take
a few minutes.
Software: Homebase 4
The camera sends the measurement values directly to the Homebase software, which was introduced in its latest version—Homebase 4—this spring. Target groups for the axle measurement solution, which can contribute to fuel savings through correction of axle settings, include trucks with multiple steered axles, buses, trailers, and special vehicles—as well as motorhomes and simple transporters. The provider writes:
“Cam-aligner is the preferred product for all workshop managers who want to increase their profits through fast alignment on trucks anywhere in the workshop or even on the road.”
Apparently, the solution convinces: the manufacturer, who has been developing frame alignment devices and axle measurement systems for over half a century, cites official recommendations for the product from renowned brands such as Daimler-Trucks, Volvo, Renault, and Scania.
The Homebase-4 software is particularly suitable for complete
digital documentation with test protocols based on the Cam-aligner axle measurement. According to the provider, the results are even more clearly visualized with the revised version. However, the main innovation of the digital application is the automated integration of the measurement results from the TreadReader profile depth scanner directly into the test protocols. The tire tread is scanned, an accurate three-dimensional image is created, and this is placed directly in the right place of the Homebase axle measurement protocol. “This means all relevant data around the axle measurement is in one place and always retrievable in one location for further inspections.”
Accident Repair
Various induction heaters from the company will also be on display at the stand to assist in accident repairs and alignment work on the frame or cab.
Josam’s portfolio includes several versions with different capacities—for heavy
work with a lot of heat demand or for aligning smaller frames. In addition, all of Josam’s induction heating devices can also be used as gas burners, likewise for lighter or heavier repair work. A mobile version—the "small" H4PRO—is particularly suitable for quick manual actions. The handy device weighs 13 kilograms and can, for instance, quickly loosen bolts and tie rods or serve for accident repairs on cabs, transporters, and cars. Duty cycle here: up to 60 minutes.
Besides examining the latest products, professional visitors at the stand have the opportunity to learn much more about the secrets of alignment technology during a conversation with the experts. Bernd Kühling, managing director of the German direct distributor Josam Richttechnik in Henstedt-Ulzburg, emphasizes: “That is always the nicest part of our job.”
