The renowned Red Dot Design Award is considered one of the largest design competitions worldwide. Design innovations are awarded in the three categories of Product Design, Brands & Communication Design, and Design Concept. The iF Design Award, founded in 1953, is also one of the most important competitions in this field. According to their own statements, thousands of architects, designers, and companies throw their hats into the ring every year for one of the coveted awards. This year, the Remscheid-based wholesaler and tool specialist SW Stahl entered two products into the competition, which impressed both juries equally: The TB8000 workshop kitchen and the pneumatic impact
wrench series from SW Stahl were awarded both the Red Dot Design Award 2025 and the iF Design Award 2025, making them among the best product designs of the year.
The TB8000
The TB8000 combines workshop ambiance andfunctionin a modern design. Thesystem, made from high-quality materials, is modular, individually configurable, and can be easily expanded. Via the online configurator the TB8000 can be easily and conveniently self-planned. Composition, cabinets, work surfaces – everything can be individually adjusted. The matte black surfaces, combined with high-quality workmanship, also withstand a great deal in a workshop setting. Ergonomic handle strips enhance the harmonious appearance, which is oriented towards
the TT801 and TT802 workshop trolleys. The iF Design jury's reasoning: "These elements are not only visually appealing but also ergonomically and haptically optimized, ensuring a comfortable and efficient use."
The impact wrenches S3460, S3465, and S3470
Alongside the TB8000, the impact wrench series, consisting of three products from SW Stahl, also convinced the international expert juries. The models S3460, S3465, and S3470 of the series "Pneumatic Impact Wrench" combine power with ergonomic design and functional layout. Robust materials, comfortable handling, and technical precision make the tools not only a reliable partner in everyday workshop life but also a real eye-catcher. The interior impresses with
a twin-hammer mechanism that can be switched single-handedly for right or left run. The ergonomic application is underlined by what the jury calls "well-thought-out" design, low weight, and structured grip. Incidentally, the design for both award-winning products, as revealed by the iF Design Award website, is by the Düsseldorf-based office Squareone.
