As a spin-off from Pirelli Tyre, the Italian tire manufacturer Prometeon launched in 2017. Since then, the company has been producing and distributing tires with a focus on industry, freight and passenger transport, as well as agricultural and off-the-road (OTR) applications—initially using its over 100 years of expertise only for Pirelli brand products. Today, brands like Anteo and Formula are also part of the portfolio—and Prometeon. After their first participation in the Transport Logistic in 2023, for the first time at a European trade fair, the focus is also on showcasing their own brand. Until June 5, 2025, industry visitors to the Transport Logistic in Munich can inspect Prometeon's latest commercial vehicle tire solutions.
Francesco Antonacci, CEO of the European region at Prometeon, describes the trade fair portfolio with the following words:
"The new tires from Series 02 are the result of intensive research and development efforts aimed at offering increasingly sustainable and efficient products tailored to the actual operational requirements of fleets."
But Prometeon doesn't just offer commercial vehicle tires. With the PRO Services tire and vehicle control system, customers also have the opportunity to optimize their operational management
to increase competitiveness. The services division also lists a 24/7 breakdown service. Prometeon employs around 8,000 people worldwide in 25 countries and has its own subsidiary in Germany. Production takes place in four plants, with research and development in an equal number of R&D centers distributed across Italy, Brazil, Turkey, and Egypt.
Germany as a Key Market
Tino Schunath, CEO of the DACH region at Prometeon, highlights the high value of the trade fair presence for the company:
"We are proud that the leading trade fair Transport Logistic is taking place in Germany, a key market for Prometeon. It is a valuable opportunity for us to engage directly with our local customers and partners and to learn about their needs."
The offering from Prometeon serves to "effectively" cope with the challenges of industrial mobility. According to Schunath, especially in a competitive market like the DACH region, the "decisive difference" depends particularly on factors like efficiency and available support, but also on aspects like sustainability.
The latest Series 02 from Prometeon is based on a complete in-house development and was launched as a fuel-saving and durable version for the markets in
Europe and Turkey at the end of 2024. After a development period of four years and over 6,000 tires tested across approximately 200 million kilometers, the tire series started with solutions for regional routes (R02), followed by further applications for long-distance (Highways: H02), urban areas (Urban: U02), buses (Coaches: C02), construction sites (G02), mining and quarries (Quarry & Mines: Q02), and special applications like the Dakar Rally (S02 Pista). High values concerning mileage, durability, renewability, and environmental friendliness were prioritized. On the website, it reads:
"It is the largest product launch in the history of the Prometeon Tyre Group, the world's only tire manufacturer focused specifically on the Truck & Bus, Agro, and OTR sectors."
According to a press release, at the Transport Logistic trade fair, the R02 Profuel Steer, the R02 Proway Steer, and the C02 Coach Multiaxle truck tires are on display at booth 103/204 in Hall A6.
The R02 for regional transport is available in sizes 315/70, 315/80, and 295/80, offering 10 percent more mileage, wet traction, and adhesion on wet and snowy roads compared to Series 01, as well as five percent more load capacity.
And
the C02 is said to have achieved rolling resistance class A as the first of the Series 02. The C02 Coach Multiaxle 195/80 R22.5 will be on display at the booth. According to the provider, a rolling resistance of less than 4.0 N/kgN can reduce fuel consumption by 0.9 liters/km—"which corresponds to an estimated annual saving of 102,000 euros and a CO2 reduction of 157 tons for a fleet of 50 vehicles." Additionally, about 80 percent of the materials are recycled, certified, or come from renewable sources. The new series also takes hybrid and electric vehicles into account: the M-mark with load index 156/150 represents a load capacity of 4,000 kilograms and therefore, according to the specifications, meets the load requirements of these vehicles. Moreover, the tires are equipped with integrated RFID technology for identification and traceability.
The PRO Services, which aim to support customers in economically and sustainably managing their fleets as an integrated solution platform, are also presented at the Prometeon booth. "From predictive maintenance to real-time monitoring of tire performance, the PRO Services offer significant added value for optimizing operating costs and increasing road safety," concludes the
