The reorganization of the Leipzig Logistics & Warehouse GmbH, founded in 1990, is progressing well three months after the insolvency filing, according to a press release dated November 11. Insolvency administrator Christian Krönert, who works for the law firm Schultze & Braun, has been able to inform the 35 employees in the Transport division at the company's Leipzig headquarters about a going-concern solution, the release says. It is intended to preserve the company's headquarters and all jobs in the division, which together account for around half of the total jobs at the company.
Takeover of the Transport Division
The Transport Division, whose staff operate nationwide with their own trucks, specializes in beverage transport,
but also in the transport of paper and dry foods. Since November 1, this division has operated as part of TCT-Speditions GmbH following a takeover, which belongs to the family-owned Holfelder Holding GmbH based in Altdorf near Nuremberg. TCT-Spedition and the Holfelder Group are already active in beverage logistics. Through the takeover, the Leipzig site and the transport jobs could be secured, according to insolvency administrator Krönert.
„The takeover of the Leipzig site and the highly qualified transport staff is a further development of our business. We are pleased about the new colleagues who will undoubtedly enrich our company,” says Anna Holfelder, managing director of the Holfelder Holding GmbH.
For the warehousing division,
Krönert is negotiating with potential investors about a takeover and a related future perspective for the Leipzig site and its around 20 local jobs there.
Insolvency proceedings opened as planned
The planned dual solution at the Leipzig site envisions splitting the former Leipziger Logistics & Lagerei into two independently operating corporate units (Transport and Warehousing) and their takeover and continuation at the site by two specialists for the respective area. With the takeover of the Transport Division, the first step of the dual solution could already be taken. The second, for the Warehousing division at the Leipzig site, could follow if the discussions with the potential investors are successfully concluded, the press release
says.
“It has become clear that the Leipziger Logistics & Lagerei GmbH, in its previous configuration with both business areas under one roof, had economically reached and exceeded its limits,” says insolvency administrator Krönert. “With the split into two independent entities, we can create a future perspective for the site and the jobs.” The competent district court opened the insolvency proceedings as planned on November 1, 2025.
Insolvency administration and management have, according to the company, managed to maintain the business operations of the Leipziger Logistics & Lagerhaus GmbH without restriction since the insolvency filing at the end of August 2025, and they continue to do so for the warehousing division as well.
