Bizerba is again this year represented with two trade fair stands at FACHPACK (23–25 September in Nuremberg). In Hall 3C at booth 468 the company shows solutions for industrial packaging processes with a focus on inspection, weight control and automation in product handling. In Hall 3A at booth 416, label solutions are at the center, addressing primarily the area of traceability and sustainability. This is reported by a press release ahead of the trade fair.
Inline Leak Detection and Seal Seam Inspection
A central topic at the industrial stand in Hall 3C is, therefore, the control of packaging integrity. Among other things, the new inspection system 'LeakSecure', an inline-capable leak-detection system for CO2-MAP packaging with semi-rigid shells, is shown. LeakSecure
detects, according to the company, even the smallest leaks in real time, independent of CO2 fluctuations in the environment, and can be seamlessly integrated into existing lines. Visual fault indicators and real-time feedback support continuous process optimization, it says.
The system is complemented by 'SealSecure', a camera-based solution for visual inspection of the seal seams. According to Bizerba, it reliably detects typical fault patterns such as folds, product adhesion, or incomplete seals. Both systems are intended to contribute to reliably ensuring packaging quality and avoiding returns.
Automated End-of-Line Solutions
In the End-of-Line area, Bizerba shows an automated solution for box labeling: a label printer from the GLP series in combination with a swing-arm applicator. This solution is particularly suitable for
the marking of large containers and transport packaging. The portfolio is rounded off with practical examples of automated product and crate handling – an increasingly relevant topic in highly automated production environments.
Labels for Traceability and Sustainability
At the second stand in Hall 3A, label solutions for modern labeling requirements are the focus. According to the company, among others RF labels are presented, which can be unobtrusively integrated into the packaging design and provide effective, yet invisible theft protection. They work with common radio-frequency systems in retail and can be deactivated at the checkout with suitable deactivators. In combination with various label shapes and materials, RF labels offer a flexible solution for goods security without affecting the packaging design or
handling.
Another focus is resource conservation. With the "CleanCut Linerless" labels, Bizerba presents a sustainable labeling solution without carrier material. This significantly reduces material consumption as well as waste and disposal costs. The basis is a high-quality paper or film material, equipped with adhesive and silicone strips tailored to the packaging. Thus, despite a reduced adhesive application, a high label adhesion is achieved, according to the provider. Adhesive-free zones should additionally ensure that the cutting blades stay clean, which positively affects maintenance effort, hygiene and the lifespan. The CleanCut labels are suitable for different application scenarios – whether as a full-wrap label (Full-Wrap), multi-page label (C-Wrap) or for the classic labeling of individual packaging sides.
