Dachser will transfer responsibility for the Business Unit European Logistics Germany to Claus Wetzel (44) on January 1, 2026. He will succeed Andreas Fritsch (63), who has led Dachser's German business with the transport and storage of industrial and consumer goods since January 1, 2023. The Business Unit European Logistics North Central Europe will be led by Florian Zehetleitner (46) starting January 1, 2026. He will take over from Wolfgang Reinel (62), who has been responsible for the Business Unit since 2014. The logistics service provider announced this in a press release on June 27.
Wetzel, as Managing Director, will steer the business development of the 41 German branches of the Business Unit European Logistics Germany. The experienced logistics manager joined Dachser in November 2019. As Head of Operations European Logistics Germany, he has since been responsible for developing uniform productivity and quality standards across all German branches.
20 years of experience in the logistics industry
Before joining Dachser, Wetzel worked for many years at the
Raben Group, where he advanced the establishment and development of his own network for part-load logistics in Germany. The graduate in business administration (DH) has 20 years of experience in the logistics and forwarding industry, which he gained through positions at P&O Ferrymasters and the Rhenania Group, among others. In his new position, Claus Wetzel will report to Dachser's COO Road Logistics, Alexander Tonn.
“The entrepreneurship of our branches is the foundation of Dachser’s success. Claus Wetzel knows the strength and entire range of our network, which is geared towards sustainable growth. In close collaboration with Andreas Fritsch, he has acquired the necessary tools over the past years to strategically further develop our German business and continue our value-driven growth in the domestic market,” says Tonn.
The leadership of the Business Unit European Logistics North Central Europe (NCE) will be taken over by Florian Zehetleitner on January 1, 2026. Supported by Wolfgang Reinel, he is currently preparing to assume responsibility for Dachser European Logistics' business in
Switzerland, Austria, Poland, the Czech Republic, as well as in the BeNeLux, Nordics, South East Europe, and UK/Ireland regions in the newly created position of Deputy Managing Director.
From trainee to executive
Currently, Zehetleitner is leading Dachser's strategic focus program “Interlocking Recharged.” In this role, he develops and drives the synchronization of the business fields Road Logistics and Air & Sea Logistics, enabling the company to offer customers optimally tailored and globally seamless end-to-end logistics solutions. Before joining Dachser in 2021, he worked for several years in various roles at Panalpina, among others. Most recently, he was Managing Director Operations & Sales for BEXity Group Austria’s part-load and contract logistics business. The business graduate and native of Allgäu began his career in the logistics industry as a trainee at Dachser's Memmingen branch in 2001.
“With Florian Zehetleitner, we have an internationally experienced logistics manager on board who will further develop and intensify collaboration with our Air & Sea Logistics business field at the European level. He
will significantly help us further exploit the potential that integrated part-load solutions to and from Europe offer us,” explains Tonn.
As part of the management generational change, Andreas Fritsch and Wolfgang Reinel will gradually step down from their operational roles and will continue to be available to the company in an advisory capacity with their wealth of experience. “The well-prepared transition at the top of the Business Units European Logistics Germany and European Logistics North Central Europe reflects the deliberate and long-term oriented development of leaders from within our ranks,” says Burkhard Eling, CEO of Dachser.
“Andreas Fritsch and Wolfgang Reinel are both stability factors and growth drivers. They have significantly contributed to Dachser’s dynamic and sustainable business development in Germany and Europe. Our home market and European land transport are the supporting pillars of our business model thanks to their leadership. In their long careers, both have sustainably shaped our company and have always been committed to the further development of Dachser as a whole.”
