The announcement is part of DHL Freight's strategic direction toward further growth and innovation in European road freight, according to a press release from the Bonn-based company.

According to DHL, Anabela Pires brings more than three decades of experience in the freight forwarding industry. Since joining
DHL, she has continuously taken on leadership responsibilities and has consistently placed sustainable growth and customer satisfaction at the center. As Area Manager Central for Freight Germany, she led the strategic realignment of the regional organization and, according to the company, achieved improvements. In the past four years, Pires has been responsible for the CESE region as CEO of DHL Freight.
