Federal Minister of Transport Patrick Schnieder officially launched the continuation of the Commission on Road Freight Transport today. The aim is to noticeably relieve the logistics industry of bureaucratic burdens and make it fit for the future, announced the Federal Ministry of Transport (BMV) in Berlin.

"Logistics is the backbone and pacemaker of our economy – and at the same time

one of the largest economic sectors in Germany. In the coalition agreement, we agreed to comprehensively reduce bureaucracy and specifically relieve companies – both nationally and in Europe," said Federal Minister Patrick Schnieder. "This also includes excessive requirements, for example, in connection with the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act. Together with industry associations, we want to create efficient, climate-friendly, and future-proof

logistics. The Commission on Road Freight Transport is a central instrument in this. My thanks go to the associations for their commitment and constructive cooperation."

The Federal Ministry of Transport and the participating associations had already agreed on more than 20 measures to relieve the industry in the summer of 2024 – including easing the establishment of truck charging infrastructure and

more practical regulations on reporting obligations. According to its own statements, the BMV will consistently continue to pursue the implementation of these measures. At the same time, ongoing new approaches to debureaucratization are to be identified and put into practice.

The Commission on Road Freight Transport meets under the leadership of the BMV. It includes twelve representatives from logistics and industry
