SSI Schäfer targets users with an extension of the robotics solution "SSI Piece Picking" who want to raise their overhead conveyor technology to a higher level of automation in order to make warehouse processes more flexible.

With the adapted version of

the flexible robotics solution, the pockets in the hanging conveyor system "SSI Carrier" can now also be automatically loaded, according to a press release.

According to the press release, the items reach the SSI Piece Picking cell via the conveying technology

to the load carrier. Using the gripper technology, the portal robot is able to pick items with the most diverse shapes and sizes quickly and with gentle handling, it says.

The portal robot removes an item from the load carrier —

or from a subdivision within the container — and places it on a short conveyor belt inside the robot cell. From this, the item reaches the transfer point and is then deposited into the open pocket of the SSI Carrier pocket
