On August 1, 2025, eleven young people from the region began their professional careers at the Dachser Logistics Center Magdeburg. Five of them are training as freight forwarding and logistics services clerks, and six as warehouse specialists. According to the company, Dachser was present at numerous job fairs and worked closely with the employment agency.
Continuity in training commitment
The previous year, twelve trainees started their professional training in
Magdeburg. Despite the currently weak economic situation, Dachser is sticking to its training course. This is against the backdrop of the ongoing shortage of qualified specialists in logistics. The company aims to retain the trainees for the long term after they successfully complete their training.
Dachser focuses on long-term retention of trainees
Dachser sees good retention prospects for trainees after successful completion. As branch manager Christian Schäckel explains, the
goal is to retain the trainees and students in the company for the long term and to keep them in the company even after they complete their training. The company specifically addresses expectations such as work-life balance, appreciation, and the meaningfulness of work, assigns responsibility early on, promotes open communication, and strengthens the sense of belonging.
"This year, we were once again able to inspire young people from the
region for a career in logistics and a career at Dachser," says HR Manager Franziska-Therese Haußer. "We were present at many job fairs and work closely with the employment agency."
High training rate at the location
The branch in Magdeburg currently employs 200 staff. With the new training cohort, the number of trainees at the location rises to a total of 29. The training rate is thus 15 percent.
