The charging hub is the first of a total of 110 locations for which the Vinci subsidiary has been awarded the contract in the Deutschlandnetz tender. As a subsidiary of VINCI Concessions, the company was awarded the contract for three regional lots in the Federal Ministry of Transport's (BMV) Deutschlandnetz tender, taking on the installation and operation of 824 fast-charging points for electric cars at 110 locations in northern, eastern, and central Germany. In recent months, the company has intensively reviewed hundreds of potential locations for the Deutschlandnetz.
“With the opening of our first location in the Deutschlandnetz, we are setting a precedent for the
future of electromobility,” says Robert Straube, the second managing director of eliso since 2024. “Our goal is to continuously expand the fast-charging network and strengthen the charging infrastructure nationwide.”
In Georgsmarienhütte, about ten kilometers south of Osnabrück, four hyperchargers with eight fast-charging points and a charging capacity of up to 400 kW each are now available at Malberger Straße shortly after entering the city, with a special charging spot also provided for transporters.
“The opening in Georgsmarienhütte is a tangible example of how the Deutschlandnetz closes gaps – even outside of large urban areas. Exactly such locations are needed to further strengthen everyday usability and
trust in electromobility. Our goal: quick charging anytime and anywhere," explained Federal Minister of Transport Patrick Schnieder (CDU).
The new charging hub in Georgsmarienhütte is already the second fast-charging location opened by eliso in Lower Saxony. From now on, electric car drivers can conveniently and sustainably charge at the conveniently located fast-charging points near the Bundesstraße 51, thanks to 100 percent green electricity. With an integrated display and a credit card terminal, payment can be made contactless and cashless by credit card or via app and charging card. The implementation of the overall project is secured by green financing amounting to 130 million euros, which
VINCI Concessions has specifically provided for the Deutschlandnetz project. The total investment volume amounts to 200 million euros for VINCI Concessions.
“Today, ultra-fast charging is possible in Georgsmarienhütte – an example of how well the interaction between the federal government, operator, and control center works. The location demonstrates how targeted and demand-oriented charging infrastructure is now planned and realized," says Johannes Pallasch, Head and Spokesman of the National Charging Infrastructure Control Center at NOW GmbH.
Even outside the Deutschlandnetz, eliso works daily on expanding an ultra-fast charging network. Currently, 80 sites are in the implementation planning at eliso, and further commissioning is planned in the
