With the opening of the Mercedes-Benz High-Power Charging Hub in Wernberg-Köblitz, the first of more than ten planned charging parks at "24-Autohöfe" locations has been put into operation. This marks the start of the Swabians' first strategic site partnership along the highway in Germany. At the autobahn interchange Oberpfälzer Wald (A93, A6) at the 24-Autohof Wernberg-Köblitz, electric drivers of all vehicle brands can now fast charge at six charging points with a power of up to 400 kW. A dynamic status LED light strip and Plug&Charge for all compatible vehicles aim to provide a comfortable charging experience
at the barrier-free charging park. A gastronomy and local supply offering, as well as a high level of service and security, complete the offer.
“With the 24-Autohöfe, we gain an experienced and multiple award-winning family business as a strong partner for our charging network. Our cooperation brings first-class charging and gastronomy infrastructure, perfectly tailored to the needs of our e-mobility customers," says Michael Springmann, CEO of Mercedes-Benz High Power Charging Europe.
With Mercedes-Benz, another strong partner in the field of alternative infrastructures is gained, explains Jessica Böse (née Ruscheinsky), Managing Partner of the 24-Autohöfe and responsible for
the areas of construction and expansion.
Open to all brands, advantages with a star
The first "Autohof" of the 24-company history was established 26 years ago at the location in Wernberg. The MB charging parks are open to drivers of all car brands. Nevertheless, Mercedes drivers are supposed to additionally benefit from a seamless integration into the digital charging network MB.CHARGE Public. In electric models with a star, the navigation system shows the exact position and the current availability of charging points. This information is used by the navigation system with Electric Intelligence to calculate a comfortable
and time-efficient route including charging stops, the Swabians further outline. At the same time, brand customers can use a reservation function. At the charging station, authentication takes place via the display in the MBUX multimedia system, the Mercedes-Benz app, the MB.CHARGE Public charging card, or directly via Plug & Charge.
With the establishment of their own charging parks, the Swabians aim to expand their existing offering of public charging points. Their own "Charging Network" is an important step in the company's electrification strategy. By the end of the decade, more than 10,000 fast charging points are planned
