The southern German logistics service provider Transco is advancing the digitization of its fleet and will cooperate in the future with the telematics provider Webfleet. The company, headquartered in Singen, aims to enable real-time management of its vehicles used nationally and internationally with the new solution and organize its processes more data-driven.
According to a joint press release from the two companies, the focus of the collaboration is on optimizing digital fleet management and expanding electromobility. In the first step, 75 vehicles will be equipped with Webfleet's telematics solution. Further units at locations in Germany and abroad
are planned.
Gerhard Reger, Global Head of Fleet Management at Transco, sees the cooperation as a strategic step:
“We see Webfleet as a partner that supports us in digitizing our fleet management and scaling our electromobility strategy.”
The company already has, according to its own information, ten battery-electric semitrailer trucks. In parallel, Transco is expanding its own charging infrastructure. Reger emphasizes:
“Electromobility is our top priority. Webfleet helps us to optimize fleet management in a data-driven, automated and cross-border manner.”
Transco is among the early adopters in the field of alternative drives in heavy-duty traffic. At its
Singen site, the company operates two 300-kW charging stations and relies on solar-powered energy supply. Transco also uses digital solutions for customs clearance: for instance, the AI-based software Traide.ai is deployed to accelerate import and export processes and reduce manual effort.
The technical implementation of the telematics solution is carried out in collaboration with Webfleet partner Telematik Partner. The support from a regionally experienced service provider is intended to ensure that not only the technology but also the accompanying services are adapted to the company's needs, according to the statement.
Webfleet provides the digital platform that will
allow Transco to automatically read, archive in compliance with legal regulations, and use vehicle data for operational decisions. The solution also enables data-based planning of charging and routing processes for electric trucks.
Wolfgang Schmid, Head of Central Region at Webfleet, highlights the importance of the cooperation:
“This partnership advances us both. Together we set the benchmarks of the future and show how data-driven logistics works in practice.”
With the initiative, Transco positions itself as a pioneer in implementing digital and sustainable fleet concepts – with the declared goal of making its fleet more efficient, climate-friendly and future-proof.
