Flexis is on the verge of starting its series production for electrically driven light commercial vehicles (eLCV). According to the company, the final preparations are currently underway at the Sandouville plant. In the Renault Group's production facility, 320 new robots have already been installed, laying the foundation for the production of its new transporter series, consisting of various models for urban delivery concepts.

The focus is on the Panel Van, the Cargo Van, and a so-called Step-In Van. The vehicles are based on a software-defined platform (SDV) developed in collaboration with Ampere, which is set to begin production before the end of the year. Flexis is utilizing the existing Renault infrastructure for this. This enables a faster transition to series production without having to build its own manufacturing facilities, according to the company.

Focus on

Connected Total Solutions

Flexis sees itself not only as a manufacturer of electric commercial vehicles but as a provider of holistic solutions for urban logistics. In addition to hardware, the company develops digital tools and software applications that allow vehicles to be deeply integrated into the operational and control systems of logistics service providers.

According to the company, the digital solutions have already been tested with pilot customers, achieving demonstrable advantages. For instance, one customer with 30 vehicles at three locations managed to avoid over 10,000 euros in additional costs due to mileage overruns through more precise deployment planning. Another test operation reduced its energy consumption by 20 percent through targeted charging optimization.

A central role is played by the Customer Operations Center in Lyon. There, Flexis works together with users on developing relevant performance

indicators. Based on this, the team creates tailored recommendations for maintenance intervals, operating times, and charging strategies.

"Skateboard Platform" as a Technological Basis

The basis of the vehicles is a specially developed platform, which, according to Flexis, enables a maximum degree of modularity and flexibility. It allows various body styles and configurations directly from the factory. While the Renault Group introduces standardized versions under the model names Trafic E-Tech, Estafette, and Goelette to the market, Flexis continues to market tailor-made vehicles under its own brand.

The control over platform, technology, and scaling lies entirely with Flexis, the statement further notes. This allows for independent and targeted further development. According to Flexis CEO Philippe Divry, this is a decisive advantage:

"We are the only OEM exclusively operating in the urban logistics sector. This gives us the

advantage of understanding the unique needs of our customers concerning data, scalability, and fleet management."

Market Response and Next Steps

Flexis has reportedly already signed fourteen letters of intent with European logistics companies, including well-known names such as DB Schenker in Germany, Hived and Globaltyre in the UK, and ColisPrivé in France.

Production of the first vehicles on an SDV basis is expected to start this year. Delivery to the first customers is planned for 2026. In addition to its direct sales, Flexis will also deliver its vehicles to the Renault Group and Renault Trucks, which will market them through their own sales networks.

With this hybrid approach of direct sales, OEM partnerships, and software solutions, Flexis positions itself as a technology provider for next-generation urban logistics—with a clear focus on sustainability, efficiency, and digital
