Alexander Rühland as of November 1, 2025 assumes the position of Head of New Car Sales Germany at Volkswagen Nutzfahrzeuge (VWN). He succeeds Karl-Heinz Krautwald, who will in the future head the Sales Region South at Volkswagen Passenger Cars. Rühland thus will carry the overall responsibility for the end-customer and dealer business in the brand's most important sales market.

2024: More than 100,000 vehicles delivered

The New Car Sales division consolidates VWN's sales activities from the regions and from sales to fleet customers as well as large and direct customers. Germany is VWN's highest-volume market. In 2024, more than 100,000 vehicles were delivered to customers; this corresponds to about a quarter

of the brand's total deliveries by VWN.

Since 2020, Alexander Rühland has been responsible for building and strategically guiding the motorhome business in the Camper Experience area. Previously he held, among other roles, the position of Head of Marketing and Sales – Customized Solutions and, according to VWN, contributed significantly to the professionalization of the business field there. Before moving to Volkswagen Nutzfahrzeuge, Alexander Rühland held various management positions in the logistics industry, most recently as Managing Director

Deutsche Post Fleet GmbH and Head of Vehicle Procurement Western Europe at Deutsche Post DHL.

Karl-Heinz Krautwald began his career with the Volkswagen Group in 2002. After various stations in sales and marketing of the Volkswagen brand in Germany, he moved to Volkswagen Nutzfahrzeuge in 2018 as Regional Head of the South and West regions.
