MAN Truck & Bus is preparing for future growth in zero-emission technologies in its spare parts supply. After just one year of construction, the global logistics center in Salzgitter has been expanded as planned with a new construction phase. From here, the Munich-based company delivers spare parts for trucks, buses, vans, and engines to customers and workshops worldwide. With the expansion, the company also aims to create the framework conditions for the rapidly growing product portfolio in the field of electromobility. The opening took place together with Michael Kobriger,

Board Member for Production and Logistics at MAN Truck & Bus, as well as Salzgitter's Mayor Frank Klingebiel.

Michael Kobriger: “Our state-of-the-art logistics center supplies our customers and workshops in around 120 countries with parts for our vehicles from Salzgitter at top speed.”

12,000 specific e-mobility components

Due to the ramp-up of zero-emission technologies, Salzgitter will stock up to 12,000 specific e-mobility components such as batteries and other parts in the coming years. Several hundred of the company's e-trucks are already rolling through Germany and Europe and have already

covered more than two million kilometers locally emission-free. In addition, there are more than 2,000 fully electric buses. By 2030, around 50% of all newly delivered MANs are expected to be electrically powered.

Spare parts for the Traton Modular System

Moreover, components for hydrogen trucks and the diesel powertrain PowerLion of the new model year 2025 are currently stored in Salzgitter. In the future, the modular common platform of the Traton brands, the Traton Modular System (TMS), will take up a large share of the spare parts range. Up

to 15 years after a series has ended, all spare parts for MAN vehicles of all powertrains will be available in stock here – from the smallest screw to heavy engines and entire driver cabs.

The new hall construction covers 53,000 m2 – about seven football fields. This expands the logistics center with its 800 employees by almost a third to a total of around 235,000 m2. In total, more than 220,000 parts will be stored here in the future, which can usually be delivered to workshops worldwide shortly
