The AutoStore distribution partner Element Logic, specialized in warehouse automation, expands its portfolio with a subscription-based rental model. With “Automation as a Service” (AaaS), companies can gain full access to AutoStore technology as well as the company’s own software suite without large upfront investments. The new offering is particularly aimed at third-party logisticians (3PL) with fluctuating customer volumes and at growing companies that want to scale flexibly.

AutoStore, warehouse software and after-sales service in the rental package

The model combines AutoStore hardware, software solutions such as the “eManager” and “eOperator” as well as after-sales service and support in a single package. The monthly billing is based on defined performance metrics such as throughput and storage capacity. This is intended to help companies benefit from predictable costs, reduced

investment risks, and accounting advantages. Availability guarantees, according to Element Logic, secure ongoing operation and system performance.

Also included in the scope of services are needs analyses, facility design, integration into existing systems, real-time monitoring and proactive support. The model enables sustainable lifecycle management and, through ongoing performance evaluations, ensures continuous optimization.

AutoStore enables food deliveries within three hours

AutoStore, with its namesake compact warehouse, is regarded as a technology provider that contributes to the ongoing development of logistical processes through modular automation systems. In collaboration with partner companies, it continually tests new approaches to improve efficiency and scalability in warehouse and fulfillment logistics.

Recently, AutoStore, together with the logistics company Veloq (part of the Rohlik Group), opened a new fully automated fulfillment center for online groceries

in Vienna. In what the company describes as the world's first AutoStore facility with real-time shipping, orders are automatically sorted by delivery route, which is intended to optimize efficiency, speed and costs. The system processes up to 20,000 items – including fresh goods, frozen goods and pharmacy products – and enables deliveries within three hours.

The facility, with seven temperature zones, serves as a reference site for international expansion, for example to North America. The basis is the “Veloq Full-Stack” platform, which unites software, hardware and operational intelligence and is already in use in several European markets with high accuracy and customer satisfaction.

AutoStore with an overhang at Lohmann & Rauscher

Element Logic is an AutoStore partner from the early days and regularly reports automation projects that

go beyond the standards for compact warehouse integration. At Lohmann & Rauscher (L&R) in Schönau near Vienna, for example, an AutoStore system with an overhang stage was designed to also utilize the area above the ports for container storage.

The facility has 5,200 container storage positions, in which up to 16 containers can be stored one above the other in an aluminum grid. Six R5 robots handle inbound, put-away and outbound operations and service two carousel ports – one for inbound goods and one for outbound goods. This achieves 35 picks per hour at the inbound and 105 picks per hour at the outbound. Control and monitoring are performed via the warehouse software “eManager” from Element Logic, which has been integrated into L&R’s existing Warehouse Management System.
