The German Bike Logistics Association (RLVD) has elected Ernst Brust, a veteran of the German bicycle scene, as its chairman and appointed the Hamburg entrepreneur Helge Neubauer as vice chairman. The long-standing chairman of the board, Tom Assmann (Magdeburg), had already made clear in advance that he would not run again in the 2025 board election. His focus in the coming years will be on building his own company AuRaSys and on leading the Policy Board.

Similarly, the 2nd chairman Martin Schmidt (Berlin) did not stand for election either, to create room for renewal in the association, as the association announced. Schmidt is managing director of the Berlin companies Cycle Logistics CL and Blue Cargo. He is also active on the jury for the 'Cargo Bike of the Year,' an award awarded every two years by the trade magazine LOGISTRA. Schmidt has led and shaped the association's board since

its founding in 2018. With perseverance and dedication, both have devoted themselves to the topic in the interest of the association, the responsible officials praised. Accordingly, the thanks at the farewell during the last general meetings of the RLVD were substantial. Assmann and Schmidt, however, remain connected to the association and engaged in other positions.

Life goal: Advancing micromobility

At the top, the member companies of the association elected a cargo bike expert from the very beginning, who has also significantly helped shape the term in Germany. The entrepreneur from Lower Franconia Ernst Brust from Schweinfurt is a technical expert and publicly appointed and sworn expert for micromobility. In addition to building his own company velotech.de GmbH, he was head of the technical department at the manufacturer Winora, a member of the supervisory board at Rohloff, and managing director of the Two-Wheeler Industry Association (ZIV). With Brust, the RLVD

gains a similarly committed, experienced and well-connected expert at the head of the board, according to those responsible.

“It is my life goal to push micromobility forward,” Brust himself says.

Great expertise at the top

Helge Neubauer moved up as 2nd chairman. The Hamburg entrepreneur and managing director of zemmi GmbH, a producer of large-volume cargo-logistics trailers, is meant to represent in the board the voice of the developing and producing member companies. Sustainability, innovation, safety and standardization are the cornerstones of his commitment in the association. Leon Imeri from Leipzig was elected to the extended board, after Laurin Neusch stepped down from the board of his own accord to take over the RLVD's head office. Imeri is a partner of the 30-member FULMO-Kurierunion in Leipzig and is committed to networking and cooperation – within the association, in Germany and with cargo logisticians abroad.

Broadly positioned board team across

the industry

Besides the three new names on the board, there is also continuity: Jörg Albrecht, managing partner of the Aachen-based neomesh GmbH and operator of CLAC Citylogistik, will as part of the extended board continue to oversee the Communications & Consulting department. Jonas Kremer, head of corporate clients at the Berlin-based isicargo GmbH, remains the association's treasurer. Laurin Neusch (Freiburg) leads the RLVD head office and coordinates the day-to-day operations, supports the board and is the first point of contact for members, partners, the press and interested parties. The diverse fields of activity of the board members the association sees as a symbol of high interdisciplinarity and willingness to cooperate in the industry. In addition, the local distribution of board members in Aachen, Berlin, Freiburg, Hamburg, Leipzig and Schweinfurt weaves a nationwide network. With this, they also want to prove that sustainable cargo bike logistics is a national
