The Swedish healthcare specialist OneMed is investing in the future of its logistics processes and relying on the expertise of TGW Logistics. OneMed is a company of the Asker Healthcare Group, distributing around 30,000 products and achieving a revenue of approximately 340 million euros in 2023.
"We are very pleased about the cooperation with OneMed. Our companies share common values and the approach of collaborative partnership," said Bart Van Eycken, Director Sales of the Customer Unit Northern Europe at TGW Logistics. "The healthcare industry holds enormous growth potential – and we are confident that we can realize further projects together with the Asker Group."
A new logistics center will be established in Gothenburg by 2026
By autumn
2026, a highly automated fulfillment center is being built in Gothenburg to supply hospitals, medical service providers, and other healthcare facilities more efficiently and reliably with medical products.
The goal of automation is a consistently high service level with simultaneously reduced delivery times. The focus is on the "TGW FlashPick" system, which combines conveyor and storage technology with intelligent software. FlashPick uses a shuttle system for the storage and retrieval of item containers, which are then transported in sequence through a conveyor network to manual or robot-supported workstations. After picking, excess goods are automatically returned, while the completed orders are transported to the shipping area. The entire process is controlled by the "TGW WERX" software.
80,000 storage
locations in the shuttle warehouse
The core of the facility is a 24-meter high shuttle warehouse with over 80,000 storage locations. Order assembly takes place at ergonomic "PickCenter" workstations, while sterile products are processed under cleanroom conditions. The system is supplemented by energy-efficient "KingDrive" conveyor technology and by consolidation processes that reduce packaging material and waste.
Robot RovoFlex commissions individual items fully automatically
A technological highlight is the picking robot "RovoFlex," a fully automatic single-item picking solution from TGW that enables up to 1,000 picks per hour. The system was developed with the goal of combining speed and accuracy. RovoFlex covers a wide range of tasks and offers precise order processing. The gentle handling is intended to
minimize product damage and returns. Simultaneously, the system reduces bottlenecks, increases efficiency, and ensures a shortened throughput time – according to the manufacturer, with high availability and scalability.
Consafe Logistics remains responsible for the warehouse management system
In parallel with the partnership with TGW, OneMed continues to rely on Consafe Logistics as the provider of the warehouse management system. The decision to extend the collaboration aligns with the company's strategic focus on a scalable, digital infrastructure. The "Astro WMS" solution, already in use in the existing distribution centers in Tagene and Härnösand, is also to be deployed in Gothenburg. The goal is to improve customer delivery through faster, more precise shipments and optimized inventory and order management.
