Uta Edenred has expanded the eCharge solution to electric trucks and van fleets. Previously, customers in the car segment could use the charging solution for public charging, charging on company premises, and at the residences of company car drivers. Now the full-service offering is also available to companies in Germany with electrically powered heavy commercial vehicles.
According to the information, around 300 truck-compatible charging stations are available to Uta customers in the public charging segment for heavy commercial vehicles in Europe, including stations from the Milence fast-charging network.
Public Charging
The provider's public truck charging network is already being used by Daimler Truck, with Mercedes-Benz Trucks' e-trucks gaining access to charging stations with Uta acceptance in Europe through the
Mercedes ServiceCard charging card.
Furthermore, transport and logistics companies have the opportunity with the eCharge offering to charge their vehicles overnight or during loading/standby times ("Depot Charging").
Depot Charging
The service offering for depot charging, according to the information, ranges from detailed needs analysis, planning and realization of suitable AC or DC charging infrastructure to technical operation and training, charging management, and the handling of charging processes.
Semi-Public and Workplace Charging
The solution is also intended to enable companies to make their charging infrastructure available for paid use by third parties ("Semi-Public Charging"). Additionally, UTA eCharge makes it possible to offer employees and customers the option to charge electric vehicles in the company parking lot ("Workplace Charging").
And in
case electric company vehicles need to be charged at employees' residences, wall boxes and the necessary handling and reimbursement solution are available through Uta Edenred.
Expert Partner Network
The current installation partners are the charging infrastructure project developers GP Joule Connect and the VSB Group, with more to follow, it is said.
In the case of home, workplace, and depot charging, the handling of charging processes and charging management is done with Spirii's software platform. The provider of charging and "software-as-a-service" solutions is majority-owned by the Edenred Group.
"Our goal with the UTA eCharge charging solution is to enable our customers with vehicles of all classes to charge in a large public network, on the company premises, and also
at the residences of company car drivers," says Pierre Jalady, General Manager of Edenred Mobility Emea and CEO of Uta Edenred. He adds, "After launching UTA eCharge as a 360° solution for the car segment, we now also have a comprehensive offer for the electrification of heavy commercial vehicles. We are thus available to all customer groups as a reliable partner for the electric transformation."
A Card for Charging, Fueling, Toll, and Services
