The IPS – Industrial Piping Service GmbH & Co. KG from Burghausen has commissioned Hörmann Intralogistics with the realization of an "AutoStore" system to optimize its internal logistics. The new facility is to automate in the future the material flows of the trading company in the area of storage and order picking and to prepare for future requirements, Hörmann Intralogistics recently announced. The focus is therefore on supplying industrial large-scale operations in the Bavarian Chemical

Triangle as well as specialized, cross-regional plant-, apparatus- and piping-builders. The commissioning at IPS is planned for mid-2026.

The AutoStore system will be equipped with 10,230 bins with a height of 220 millimeters and operated by four robots of the "Red Line" series with five charging stations. Two "ConveyorPorts" enable connections to inbound/outbound goods and order picking. In addition, a Conveyor-Frame is being prepared for a future expansion. The control of the system is via

Hörmann Intralogistics' Warehouse Management System "HiLIS". Other components of the project include a cleaning station for the AutoStore robots as well as extinguishing generators for fire protection. The bin loading is also part of the scope of delivery.

Hans-Jörg Behensky, managing partner of IPS GmbH & Co. KG, sees in the new solution an important milestone for the strategic development of the company: "Since its founding in 2009, IPS has evolved from a traditional trading

company in pipe technology into a modern C-parts manager, system partner and service provider for connection, sealing and fastening technology and occupational safety. With the new AutoStore system we are creating the prerequisites to make our warehousing processes significantly more efficient and, in particular, to supply our major customers in the chemistry and petrochemistry sectors in the 'ChemDelta Bavaria' as well as our customers in specialized plant and apparatus construction even faster, more reliably and
