The Stuttgart-based specialist for AI-based robot control, Sereact, is the new part of the supply-chain ecosystem of the Hamburg-based provider Körber. The aim of the partnership is to strengthen the position of both companies in intralogistics and to promote robot-assisted order picking as an integral component of holistic solutions, according to a press release from September. Körber has now included Sereact's AI-based control and supplementary robot hardware in its

portfolio. A first joint project at a German mechanical engineering company is, according to the cooperation partners, already in the realization phase.

By integrating automatic single-item picking into solutions for production and distribution, challenges such as labor shortages, reduction of error rates, and short throughput times or delivery times could be addressed, the companies argue. In doing so, the AI-based grasping software plays a key role with regard to

the range of ‘pickable’ goods as well as the handling of new, system-unknown objects.

As with all robot technologies, a deep understanding of user processes and seamless integration into other automated material-flow technologies are critical to success, it says. As a provider in the field of integrated total systems, Körber has the necessary experience and the required integration know-how to successfully deploy Sereact's picking solutions. Well-integrated modern robot solutions

should enable lowering personnel costs and overcoming staffing bottlenecks. Variations in throughput performance should be easier to manage thanks to the reduced dependence on personnel.
