Transporeon, a Trimble company based in Ulm, announced on 25 September 2025 the introduction of a new Transport Planner tool. According to the company, the system creates transport plans faster and more cost-effectively than traditional solutions. At the same time, Transporeon is expanding its platform into a modular Transportation Management System that integrates procurement, execution, and yard management.

“The logistics industry demands intelligent and increasingly networked solutions,” said Jonah McIntire, Chief Product and Technology Officer, Transportation & Logistics at Trimble. “Our latest innovations offer an agile TMS designed for the age of AI. Through seamless integration of planning, network execution, and enhanced real-time transparency, we give our customers unprecedented control over their entire transportation cycle.”

Three focus areas

The new features affect, according to the company, the areas “Execution and Visibility”, “Freight Marketplace” and “Dock and Yard Management”.

The Transport Planner tool is intended to enable optimal workflows and supports the allocation of transports. The modules “Autonomous Procurement” and “Autonomous Quotation” are integrated, automating the entire process from bid submission to assignment for spot shipments.

The solution “Transporeon Visibility” has been enhanced with tracking features for sea and air freight. This also includes tools for demurrage and detention management, to monitor shipments seamlessly from source to destination.

New tools for procurement and yard management

In the “Freight Marketplace” area, Transporeon, according to its own statements, is introducing an expanded bidding tool. It enables strategic multi-route requests and relies on precise data from the product “Market Insight”.

For yard management, the company offers an enhanced time-window management. This is complemented by the module “Yard Pre-Check-In” and digital transport documents that enable paperless handling of trucks.

“Transporeon's TMS

enables our customers to easily tailor the system to their needs, increasing agility and reducing costs,” said Philipp Pfister, Sector Vice President at Transporeon. “This marks a milestone on our path: we have laid the foundation and are now unlocking the full potential of the platform with expanded AI-driven features. The value lies not only in our advanced, adaptable tools, but also in the exponential benefits that our customers realize by connecting to a single, large network of shippers, freight forwarders, and carriers. By empowering our customers, we strengthen the entire network.”

Use of Artificial Intelligence

The transport management system uses artificial intelligence to automate key processes. These include spot-market procurement, onboarding of freight carriers, the creation of price forecasts, and the prediction of exact arrival and departure times. Customers, according to Transporeon, reported a 20 percent higher

load capacity with the Time Slot solution and a 40 percent reduction in inquiries about order status with the Visibility module.

Large network and high transport volumes

According to the company, Transporeon's network comprises 158,000 freight forwarders as well as 1,400 shippers and retailers. Through the platform, more than 110,000 transports are processed daily and over 100,000 loading and unloading time windows are booked. Annually, the volume of freight handled amounts to around 55 billion euros.

Availability and outlook

The new Transport Planner tool is available immediately, according to Transporeon. The further developments in the areas of freight procurement and time-window management are currently in a testing phase and are expected to last until Q1 2026. The innovations will be presented at the “NEXT” event as part of the Transporeon Summit on 24 and 25 September 2025 in
